Doctor's update...

We got the results of the CAT scan yesterday. Good news this time. No it’s not gone yet but is responding well to the chemo. We really don’t know if Darell will have 6 or 8 treatments but there is a noticeable shrinkage in the tumors. So the plan for now is 6 and then another CAT to stage the cancer and see if it’s still there and needs 2 more. Of course if it’s still there after 8 they will keep going till it’s gone but that most likely won’t be the case with Darell. Hodgkin’s disease is curable but the treatments use to cure it can cause other cancers down the road. Since Darell has adrenal issues this puts him at higher odds of having another cancer type down the road. At least we know that and will keep a pro-active process going to be on the lookout for any problems.

His eye was not looking so great yesterday so they increased his shingles medicine to fight the virus. I am sure he would like to be done with that as well.

David is doing great. Grandpa has been with us this week and David loves it. I think grandpa maybe getting tired but we know he loves spending the time with David as well. I think David is getting cabin fever and ready for summertime and being outside more. He is doing really well with the potty training. He is now telling us when he needs to go and has even waked up several mornings dry. We are well on our way.

Darell is at his 5th chemo at the moment. His dad is with him today. I hope that Darell doesn’t get as wiped out this time. If he is wiped again I think he is going to take Monday off from work. He can’t get that run down again; other bad things can happen to him if he gets too wiped out.

God bless you all for hanging in there with the positive belief that all will be well. I love hearing how you all are doing and that Darell's tumors are shrinking. It IS good news and being so far away, is a relief to me.
